About Mines
Every round is drawn from your seed pair and the round's nonce, so you can repeat each step yourself once the server seed is revealed. Tiles are numbered from 1 at the top left, row by row: 1 to 25 on Low risk, 1 to 36 on High risk.
Mine Positions
- hash = HMAC-SHA256 with the server seed (without its 0x prefix) as the key and "clientSeed:nonce" as the message, written as 64 lowercase hex characters.
- Start from all tiles in ascending order. For i = 0, 1, 2, …, read the first 8 bytes of BLAKE2b-512("hash-i") as a little-endian unsigned number and divide it by 2^64 − 1 in double precision to get r. With n tiles left, the tile at position min(floor(r × n), n − 1), counting from 0, is drawn next.
- The first tiles drawn, as many as your mines, are the mines.
Random Order
Random and Autobet open tiles in a fixed order made from your client seed and the nonce only. The server seed is never used, so the order does not depend on where the mines are.
- For k = 0, 1, 2, …, take HMAC-SHA256 with the client seed as the key and "random:nonce:k" as the message, and read each digest as eight 32-bit big-endian unsigned numbers w, used in turn.
- Start from all tiles in ascending order. With n tiles left, skip w if w ≥ 2^32 − (2^32 mod n); otherwise the tile at position w mod n, counting from 0, comes next.
- Random opens the first tile of this order that is still closed. Autobet opens the first tiles of the order, as many as Tiles to Open.
Example: client seed 7AJGSKxO0pQ with nonce 1 on 25 tiles gives 1, 2, 13, 15, 14, 3, 21, 11, 22, 16, 18, 9, 24, 20, 12, 10, 19, 4, 5, 6, 8, 7, 23, 17, 25. Bet Details shows the Random Order of each bet.
For the strongest proof, set a client seed of your own in Seed Settings. The next server seed is fixed before you choose it, and its hash is shown, so nobody can pick mines that match your Random order.
